Planning & design
Do you offer free home visits and measurements?
Yes. We offer a free, no-obligation design consultation in your home. We take precise measurements, discuss your storage needs and style, and show you finish samples so you can see how they’ll look in your space.
What’s the difference between bespoke, made-to-measure and built-in wardrobes?
They overlap. Made to measure means sized precisely to your room. Bespoke means the whole design (layout, interior and finish) is created for you. Built-in describes wardrobes fixed wall to wall and floor to ceiling, so they become part of the room. Most of our wardrobes are all three.
Can fitted wardrobes be installed in small or awkward spaces?
Yes. Making use of awkward space is one of the main benefits. Sloping ceilings, alcoves, bay windows and unusual layouts can all be fitted with storage that uses the full space. See sloping ceiling wardrobes and alcove wardrobes.
Can I customise the inside of my wardrobe?
Yes. You can choose hanging rails, shelves, drawers, shoe racks, pull-out accessories and lighting. We’ll plan a layout around what you own and how you use it.
Do you design matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. Alongside wardrobes we design fitted bedroom furniture, such as bedside tables, chests of drawers, dressing tables and overbed storage. Everything can match.
Can you turn a spare room into a walk-in wardrobe?
Often, yes. Box rooms and small bedrooms can make excellent dressing rooms. We’ll check the dimensions and suggest a layout that keeps a comfortable walkway. See walk-in wardrobes.

Styles & materials
Should I choose sliding or hinged doors?
What finishes can I choose from?
There’s a wide range, including matt colours, woodgrain effects, high gloss, painted styles, mirrored fronts and glass. We bring samples to your consultation so you can compare them in your own light.
Can mirrored or glass panels be included?
Yes. Mirrored doors are popular because they reflect light and make rooms feel larger. Glass panels come in clear, frosted and smoked finishes for a dressing-room look.
Can you add lighting inside the wardrobe?
Yes. Options include LED strips above rails or under shelves, often on sensors so they switch on when the doors open. Lighting makes clothes easier to see.

Costs & quotes
How much do fitted wardrobes cost?
It depends on size, door style, materials and interior fittings. After your free consultation you’ll receive a clear, itemised quotation. Our fitted wardrobe costs guide explains what affects the price and includes a quick budget planner.
Is the quotation free and without obligation?
Yes. The design visit, measurements and quotation are completely free and there’s no obligation to go ahead.
Do you offer finance or payment plans?
Payment terms are set out in your quotation. If spreading the cost matters to you, ask at your consultation and we’ll explain what’s available at the time.
Do fitted wardrobes add value to a home?
Many buyers and tenants like good fitted storage. However, we can’t promise any specific effect on a property’s value.

Installation
How long does it take to design and install a fitted wardrobe?
As a rough guide, the full process usually takes two to six weeks. That covers the consultation, design sign-off, production and installation. Simpler wardrobes can be quicker, while walk-ins and whole-room schemes may take longer. We give you a clear timeline at the start. See our installation process.
How long does fitting take on the day?
A typical single-wall bedroom wardrobe is often fitted in one to two days. Larger or more complex projects take longer, and we’ll tell you what to expect in advance.
Do you remove old wardrobes?
Yes, if you need us to. We can take out existing wardrobes before installing your new ones. Just mention it when you enquire so we can include it in your quote.
My walls and floors aren’t straight. Is that a problem?
No. Uneven walls are normal, especially in older North East homes. We measure at several points, level the carcasses and scribe the edges to your walls and ceiling for a tight fit.
Which areas do you cover?
We’re based in Newcastle upon Tyne and cover the North East, including Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, Jesmond, Gosforth, Heaton, North Shields and Whitley Bay.

Ownership & aftercare
Are fitted wardrobes permanent, or can they be moved?
They’re designed as permanent fixtures. They can technically be dismantled, but because they’re built to measure for one room, they won’t fit the same way elsewhere.
Is there a warranty on my wardrobe?
Warranty details depend on the materials and hardware chosen and are explained clearly in your quotation before you place an order.
Are fitted wardrobes suitable for rental properties?
Yes. They’re popular with landlords because they provide durable, space-saving storage that appeals to tenants, without bulky freestanding furniture.
How do I look after my wardrobe?
Wipe doors with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Keep sliding tracks free of dust, and if a door needs adjusting over time, get in touch. Most hinges and runners can be adjusted.
