Bright rooms, bay windows and Edwardian homes

Whitley Bay runs along the North Tyneside coast between Cullercoats and St Mary’s Lighthouse, in NE25 and NE26. The Spanish City dome and the Promenade sit at its centre. Behind the seafront are streets of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, many split into flats, with inter-war semis in Monkseaton.

Rooms near the coast often get a lot of daylight, and the right finish makes good use of it. Pale woodgrains, soft whites and mirrored doors bounce light around the room. Sliding door wardrobes with mirror panels can also make a small flat bedroom feel bigger.

Many houses in Whitley Bay have bay windows or loft rooms, and both make standard wardrobes hard to place. Bespoke fitted wardrobes are designed around the bay, the roofline or the chimney breast. That way no space is wasted and the room still feels open.

Installation coverage

Do you cover Whitley Bay and the coast?

Yes. We fit wardrobes across Whitley Bay and Monkseaton, from the streets near the Promenade to West Monkseaton and Earsdon. We also work north to Holywell, Seaton Sluice and Hartley, and south to Cullercoats and Tynemouth.

Streets near the Whitley Bay seafront can be narrow and busy in summer, and many flats are up a flight of stairs. We talk through parking and access at the design visit and plan fitting day around it. We also fit wardrobes just down the coast in North Shields.

FAQs

Questions about coastal home wardrobes

More answers in our fitted wardrobe FAQs.

Which finishes work best in a bright bedroom?

Whites, creams, pale greys and light woodgrains all reflect daylight and keep a room airy. Finishes can look different in strong sea light, so it helps to see samples in the room itself. We can talk through options at the design visit.

Can you fit a wardrobe around a bay window?

Yes. We usually put the main wardrobe on another wall and keep the bay clear, sometimes with low drawers or a dressing table nearby. If there is no other wall, shallower units can sit neatly on either side.

Do you cover Monkseaton, Earsdon and Seaton Sluice?

Yes, along with Holywell, Hartley and Cullercoats, which are all close to Whitley Bay. We also fit wardrobes a little further south in North Shields and Tynemouth.

Can you make use of the eaves in our loft room?

Yes. Sloping ceiling wardrobes follow the line of the roof, with full-height hanging where the ceiling allows. Drawers or cupboards then fit under the lower part of the slope.

How long will my wardrobe take to fit?

The price comes down to size, doors and finish. As a rough guide, allow a few weeks from signing off the design, and a day or two to fit a typical bedroom wall. We confirm your timeline in the quote.

What will my wardrobe cost?

Prices depend on the size, doors, finish and the fittings inside. We send an itemised quote after a free visit, and There is more on pricing in our costs guide.
